Marina Beach in Chennai along the Bay of Bengal is India’s largest and world’s second longest beach. It is one of the most crowded beach too. It is really nice beach. There is a massive rectangular step well in front of its gopuram. It is one of the oldest shiva Temples in the world built in the 7th century. The zoo also has a reptile house which houses various species of reptiles including the king cobra, python, and viper any much more. In addition to this, they have a small built-in Jurassic park which just adds on to the excitement. This is a must visit if you’re visiting Chennai irrespective of your age. The property is next to the ICF(Integral Coach Factory) in New Avadi Road. It has ample space for parking your 2/4 wheelers. It goes inside a small tunnel as well apart from taking you around the property which will last for 2-3 minutes. There is also a fully air conditioned movie theatre which shows the video(around 30 minutes) about various aspects of railways including the world’s longest & fastest trains. If you are a keen observer the types of bogeys, parts of engine and models of train will appeal to you. There is a coach which is converted to restaurant, will be really pleasant. The fare are very reasonable and comes with complimentary tea for adults.

Guindy National Park, Chennai tourist places

Guindy National Park is situated about 5 km away from main city railway station and very nice place for those who wish to visit with Kids and families. This place has a children’s park and the snake park. The snake park is a special attraction for those who wish to see the wide variety of Snakes and exotic species of reptiles commonly found in Zoos. The children’s park is small in comparison to the snake park. It is a good place for photography as well as for visiting. There are a number of stores outside the park which provide refreshment drinks as well as snacks for those who wish to have something after the visit. The entry fee counters are separate for the two separate parts. The park is about 5 kilometres away from the Chennai Central Station. people can use cab or metro to reach the park.

Valluvar Kottam is popular for its great structural design, built with innovative layouts and well-thought implementation. This is a beautiful momument; it is impressive both due to its size and complex carvings. This chariot was built by Ex-Chief Minister and DMK leader Mr.M.Karunanidhi, to celebrate Tamil Language and its glory. Portion of that place belonged to private party and it was acquired for Valluvar Kottam project.

The Crocodile Bank is a good place to see, of course, different crocodile species but also turtles, tortoises, snakes, and iguanas. A few bird species can also be seen. It’s a fairly small walk to view the reptiles, and learn about them – you can spend about an hour here. A demonstration for extracting snake venom is also there, and that requires an additional ticket. A good place for photography, if you are into it, and surprisingly, they haven’t yet started charging additional for a camera. The advantage of this place is not the crocodile view, but the snake view which is inside crocodile park. You can see different types of snakes specious and the snake trainers inside will give you instructions about those snakes and they will also show venom extraction (only on Sunday).
