Kankaria Lake is the largest lake in Gujarat. Its perimeter is about 2.25 kilometre. The Kankaria Lake
lies in the Maninagar suburban area south of Ahmedabad. Kankaria Lake was built by Sultan Ahmed Shah. In the middle of the lake is a garden named Nagina Wadi. Kankaria Lake is the largest lake located in the city of Ahmedabad in the Indian state of Gujarat. Kankaria Lake was also known as ‘Qutubu Hauz’ and ‘Hauz-e-Qutubu’. Sultan Qutbuddin started the construction of the Kankaria Lake in the 15th century and was established in 1451 AD. Naginawadi palace is situated in the middle of this lake spread in a circumference of about one and a half km. There is a very beautiful island palace in the middle of Lake Kankaria. Nur Jahan and Jahangir used to visit here often during the Mughal period. Kankaria Lake is very famous among tourists and boating is also well managed here. Huthseeing Jain Temple is located at Shahibaug Rd, Bardolpura near to Delhi Darwaza in Ahmedabad of Gujarat. This temple is very close to Delhi Gate. It has a pavilion, domes with towers and 12 pillars with beautiful carvings. The main temple is formerly known and has a total of 52 Shrines of Jain Tirthankaras. The Kirti Stambha / Mahavir Stambha (pillar of honor) is made in front of the main gate of the Shrine, after seeing it one enters the temple. The 78 meter tall tower located here resembles the Chittor Tower in Rajasthan. The carving on this tower is very similar to the Mughal design. A sacred Jain place to make a great time over here by worship, Hutheesing Jain Temple attracts tourists with its divinity and serenity. An architectural structure of the entire city including Huthseeing Jain Temple is dedicated to the 15th Tirthankar, Dharmanath. Temple remains open all days of the week from morning 8am to evening 5pm.

Gandhi Ashram is situated on the banks of the Sabarmati River and is also known as the Sabarmati Ashram. It was founded in 1917 by Mahatma Gandhi. This ashram is known for Gandhiji’s Dandi March, from which Gandhiji started the Dandi March, the steps taken for the Salt Movement which explains great freedom fight events origin information. This ashram is a collection of Gandhiji memorabilia. Gandhiji chose this place as the experiments to be done with his creative activities to make him self-reliant. He started cutting and weaving cloth in this ashram. He built and spread Khadi in this ashram. If tourists go on a guided tour, then they can visit many of the major places here – Magan Niwas, Upasana Mandir, Hadya Kunj, Vinobha – Meera Kutir, Nandini, Udyog Mandir, Somnath Chhatralaya, Teachers Niwas, Gandhi Memorial Museum, Paintings Gallery, My Life See also my message, library and archives. Akshardham Temple is located at Gandhinagar in Ahmedabad of Gujarat. This temple is a temple of Swaminarayan sect who believe in Sanatan Dharma. The temple was built with a pink stone which houses the statue of Lord Swaminarayan, the founder of this community. The temple itself has an idol of Swaminarayan, which is completely overlaid with gold, and also houses the statue of Swami Gunatinand and Swami Gopalananda on both sides. The temple is three-storied – Hari Mandapam or Main Floor, Vibhuti Mandapam or Upper Floor, Prasadi Mandapam or Ground Floor. The temple has 7 pillars, 210 single-stole beams, 25 domes and 8 jharokhas. There is a beautiful carving on each pillar. The steel has not been used in any way in the entire construction of this temple. There are many types of work done on the stone in this temple. The temple also hosts a light and sound show in which many things related to Sanatan Dharma are performed. The show showcases the Vedas, the Puranas and several Hindu scriptures. There is a passage here and 356 pillars are built throughout the temple. There is a social harmony centre where applied research is conducted which provides scholars with research opportunities.

Adalaj village is located to the south-west near to Gandhinagar district and is just 5 kilometers from Gandhinagar at Ahmedabad of Gujarat. Adalaj Ki Bawdi (in Gujarati Adaljani Vav) is a stepwell well (Bawdi) in a village called Adalaj in Gujarat. A large number of people come from far and wide to see this well. It is spread over an area of arround 107 hectares in total. The site is located near Sarkhej Gandhinagar. A variety of exhibits are also put up here, many virtual reality corners and live telecast are also shown so that the public can get to know about it better. 3D Max Theater, Musical Dining Fountain, Energy Park are the major attractions that attract tourists easily. Entrance fees arround Rs.25 per person and opens all days of the week. Even there are some special charges applies on different rides and science shows. Good for students to make an industrial visit over here.

The architecture of the temple is a harmonious blend culture of Gujarati Sompura and Rajasthani Khamira style. The temple sculptures are designed well and good by architects. The temple features the largest temple rooms in India, which can accommodate around 4000 devoteesm who wishes to stay over here for long period
of time by their own interest. The temple is enriched with spontaneous spiritual chantings of lord Krishna, tourists should visit food court, where they can try some delicious ‘prasad meal’. It is the royal entrance, used during the medieval period as the gateway to the Royal Square. During visits to Bhadra Fort and Teen Darwaza, one can overlook the majestic interiors. The rooms and halls have an antique furniture in the halls, which depict the stories of the Sultan’s life and his family and acquaintances. In today’s era Bhadra Fort and Kishore Darwaza are used as government offices like Archaeological Survey of India. There is a statue of a great industrialist who was the first industrialist of Ahmedabad. Before the fort, Siddhi Saeed is inside the mosque. Bhadra fort Bhadra Fort is open from 9 am to 5 pm on all days of the week. It takes about an hour to walk around the entire fort. here is no entry fee to visit the fort and people can enter the fort for free.

Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Ahmedabad tourist places

Sidi Saiyyed Mosque is located at Bhadra Rd, Opposite Electricity House near to Gheekanta, and Lal Darwaja in Ahmedabad of Gujarat. This mosque was built in 1573 and is the last mosque in Ahmedabad during the Mughal period. On the western side window of the mosque is found a stone work on the stone which is famous all over the world. A tree is carved out of the stone in the premises and excavated in the premises which shows the peculiarity of the craftsmanship of that period. It is situated in the busiest area of the city, tourists will surely experience peace and will be relieved. There is no entrance fees charges for this mosque and can visit all days of the week from morning 7.00 am to evening 6.00 pm.

Jami Masjid, Ahmedabad tourist places

Jami Masjid is located at Manek Chowk near Gandhi Rd, Danapidth, and Khadia in Ahmedabad of Gujarat. This structure is made of yellow sandstone. And its courtyard is made of marble. It is surrounded by a column passage and Arabic calligraphy remains on these columns. Two minarets are built at the entrance which collapsed in 1819. In the mosque’s prayer hall, 260 column pillars stand in support of 15 domes. The walls of this mosque are full of carved Jain and Hindu motifs. The central dome here is shaped like a lotus flower found in every Jain temple and there are some pillars that are often built in Hindu temples. Not only this, Om is also anal in the windows here. Many people from all religions are allowed to visit this mosque but during prayer they are appealed to keep peace. Prayers are performed after the head is covered in the mosque. There is no entry fees for this masjid and opens all days of the week from morning 6am to evening 8pm.
