Kalimpong is a village situated in the Darjeeling district of Indian state West-Bengal and renowned hill station in eastern zone of India. It is emerging as an ultimate holiday destination in the Eastern Himalayas. It is covered with forests and terraced agricultural land. The National Highway, 31A, leading to Kalimpong is also the only road link of Sikkim with the rest of the country. Foreigners visiting Kalimpong must possess an Indian visa. It is a massive statue of lord Hanuman on top of the hill and a very famous visitor destination in Kalimpong. This Hanuman Statue is situated on a small Deoli hill. If tourists are coming to Deoli hill, they must go to the temple and enjoy overlooking the magnificent Kanchenjunga mountains. Tourist has to walk a 280 steep steps to get to the temple but it is worth the small effort. Morgan House, Kalimpong tourist places

Morgan House is located in Kalimpong, a small hill station in West Bengal. Which was built in 1930 by George Morgan? Which is currently maintained by the Tourism Department of West Bengal? This property was also known as Singamari Tourist Lodge or Darpin Tourist Lodge. Morgan is a beautiful historic building, spread over an area of about 16 acres on the mountain of Darpin. Kalimpong lives just three km from here. Learn more interesting things related to Morgan House. The mysterious history of Morgan House is linked to a British industrialist who once lived here. He was so impressed by the hill here that he thought of building a building here. But he had no idea that he is inviting his last days as well as that of his wife. This building has hosted big parties for a long time. Artists to big leaders have also come here. Morgan House has passed through many lips. After the death of George Morgan and his wife, the building went under the supervision of the trustees as Morgan had no heirs. Since the Trustees, this building has come under the Government of India. After which the journey of this building continued under the tourism department of India and finally it came under the supervision of the tourism department of West Bengal. Morgan House’s horror story begins after the mysterious death of George Morgan’s wife (Lady Morgan). After which Morgan also died. There is no precise evidence as to how Lady Morgan died. It is believed that even today, the soul of Lady Morgan wanders in this building. Many tourists who have come to stay here have complained that there are strange sounds and scary experiences at night. If you want to enjoy the adventure with a little mystery, then definitely stay here one night. You can reach Morgan House via all three routes. The nearest airport is Siliguri Airport, from where you can reach Morgan House via private taxi. For the rail route you can resort to the New Jalpaiguri railway station, which is located at a distance of about 73 km from here. If you wish, Morgan House can also be reached via roadways. Kalimpong is well connected to major cities in the state by improved roadways.

Army Golf Course, Kalimpong tourist places

Army Golf Course is one of the prime attractions of the town of Kalimpong. It is within the Army cantonment area and is right opposite the famous Morgan House hotel. Albeit in size, it may not be in a position to compete with the best of the golf courses but in beauty it can take on any. It’s lawns are as green as a lawn can get. Situated at a distance of 5 km from Kalimpong Bus Station, Durpin Monastry is a Buddhist monastery in the beautiful hill town of Kalimpong, West Bengal. Zang Dhok Palri Monastry Popularly known as Durpin Monastery in Kalimpong. It is one of the biggest monasteries in Kalimpong and among the renowned Buddhist monasteries in West Bengal. It is a beautiful structure and inside there are beautiful holy tapestries and paintings on pillars and ceilings. Monks reside nearby and their desks are neatly laid out inside the monastery. There are great views of the surrounding and hill. It is a very calm and quiet place. The serenity of the monastery cannot but fill one’s heart with blissful tranquility. The breathtaking view of Kalimpong’s mountains-cape from the terrace of the monastery is unforgettable. The Zang Dhok Palri Monastery was recognized in 1970 by Dudjum Rinpoche and was consecrated by His Holiness Dalai Lama six years later. Today, Zong Dog Palri is regarded as a important religious center among the followers of Buddhism. Timings: 9 AM – 5 PM.
