The top station, situated arround 32 km from Munnar with an elevation of 1700 meters make this one of the highest point in Munnar. This place falls on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Here you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Western Ghats and the valley of Theni district of Tamilnadu.

The top station got its name from the fact that it was railway station in Kundla valley. At this highest point, you can feel that the cloud is only one hand away from you. The destination is famous for Nilakurinji flowers (Strobilanthus), which once blown once in twelve years. The blossoming of these rare flowers will give the destination a different look. The next flower of Nilakurinji is on 2018.

The best time to go to the top station is from April to May. Top stations can easily be reached from Munnar because buses are often available from there and you can also use the cab. You can also visit Kurienjimala Sanctuary near the top station.
