Panjim tourist places; Panjim, the capital of Goa, is a small city but very beautiful. Miramar Beach Panjim tourist places

It is one of the most popular beaches in Goa and is situated around 3 km from Panjim. The beach is located in the capital city of Goa. its close to the mouth of Mandovi river joining the Arabian Sea. The beach is clean and filled with soft sand. There are no shacks at the beach but visitors can enjoy street food, tea, coffee, Coconut water, chaat, pav baaji etc. There are life guards as well. It’s quite a good destination for morning or evening walk as it’s very clean with fresh atmosphere. There are lots of trees around. It is very good place to spend some quality time with family and friends. But if you want to see some dolphins, then the service of motorboat and steamer is available from this beach. Dolphins can be seen a few kilometers through the sea. Tourists often get a glimpse of the dolphin here.

Donna Paula View Point Panjim tourist places

Donna Paula is situated in Panjim. This viewpoint from where a tourist gets to view the assemblage of the Mandovi and Zuari rivers. There was a heartbreaking love story behind the reason for naming the place, which was namedue after a Portuguese viceroy daughter who cannot bear a life without her love ended her life off this cliff here. This view point is one of the excellent view point in goa. It is also famous as “Shingham” Bollywood movie shooting done here. It is one of the most picturesque places where lot of place to view and take picture.

Basilica Of Bom Jesus Panjim tourist places

Basilica of Bom Jesus is amongst the most visited and popular churches Goa and India. This church is Portuguese craftsmanship in the world. It is built in 1594 and completed on 1605. It is around more than 400 year old church in Old Goa. The Basilica of Bom Jesus enshrines the sacred remains of Goa’s patron saint Francis Xavier, who died on a sea voyage to China in 1552. Legend says that when the body of Xavier was transferred to Goa the following year, the body was found as fresh as the day it was buried. The embalmed body of the saint lies in an airtight glass coffin which is placed in a silver casket. It is believed that the saint has miraculous powers of healing. Once every 10 years, the body is allowed to be viewed by the people who visit this holy place. The last time it was in 2014 and the next would be in 2024.

Church of Our Lady of the Rosary Panjim tourist places

Standing atop the Monte Santo (Holy Hill) and keeping a benevolent watch over Old Goa, is the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. Beautiful in its austereness and simplicity this church is one of the only buildings in Goa that attests to the introduction of Renaissance architecture, brought to Goa by the Portuguese. It is perhaps the most Portuguese of all the Goan churches as it was not influenced by the Goan architectural solutions, which though they have their roots in the Portuguese tradition, have their own unique standing. Additionally, the building remains largely unchanged.

Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary Panjim tourist places

It is situated in Panjim City, Goa and popularly known as nature and boat ride with various species of birds. It is more interesting for mud skippers, mangrove trees and crocodiles than birds. It is recommended to visit in the morning between 6 to 8 am, if you want to catch boat and catch glimpse of Birds. If you go there in the afternoon, you will not get to see anything. Only thing you can enjoy is Ferry ride (you can take vehicle also) if you go in the afternoon or evening. Avoid taking vehicle in ferry as returning in evening could be time consuming due to evening rush for ferry ride (from other vehicles plying from nearby places) . Bird sanctuary is just 10 meters away from ferry ride on the other side of Ribander.

This place is situated in most northern part of Ponda, Goa. It is Good place to see and learn new things about the spice plantation from such a close proximity and very nicely explained by the individual there. This place is situated in Ponda district in the Indian state Goa. The place can be reached via a bus, car or bike. The roads to this place are good and having good connectivity. It is better to go at this place in the morning time itself. However you may go at any time during rainy season. This place is usually crowded with family and childrens. This church has a restriction that females or males who have wore clothes above knee are not allowed to go inside the church. It is advisable to purchase the candles from shops nearby before climbing up to this church as there are no shops on top to purchase the candles. Vasco da Gama railway Station(VSG) is 28 km and Madgaon Junction(MAO) is 39 km away from Panjim with good connectivity with other major station. After getting down at the station Busses, taxis available to reach Hotels or desire located. Or one can use Government busses to reach their destination.
