Gurudwara Bavli Sahib located on the Zirakpur-Kalka Highway in Mohali is a famous pilgrimage site. According to a popular belief, a descendant of Baba Gurditta meditated here for years. When Guru Gobind Singh ji came to know this, he stayed here in order to go to Anandpur Sahib after the battle of Bhangani. That Sikh follower requested Guru Sahib to make the water supply as it was for the betterment of the villagers. Guru Gobind Singh Ji shot an arrow at the ground to fulfill his wish.

The place where the arrow came, became a shallow well. Later the gurudwara was constructed at this holy place and named as Gurdwara Bavli Sahib. On Amavasya day, a large number of devotees from all over the country come here and take a dip in the holy water of Baoli. This Gurudwara has special religious significance in the Sikh community and if you are in Mohali, then definitely go here.

The Baradari Gardens are located to the north of the old Patiala city. As the name suggests, it has twelve gates for entry. Rang Mahal was built by King Umed Singh at Surana Mohalla. The entire palace is made up of an architectural blend of Mughal and British style. The main attraction of this palace is the 18th century Punjab hill style frescoes which throw light on many aspects of Lord Krishna’s life. The palace also housed a museum in which the items and antique pieces were later removed and kept in the National Museum of Delhi. Tourists can also buy handmade goods such as handkerchiefs, wood loom-made shawls and chappals from the shops located inside the palace. Tourists can visit this palace from 10 to 1 in the morning and from 2 to 5 in the evening.

Sheesh Mahal is a part of Amber which is popularly known as Darpan Hall. This hall is a part of Jai Mandir which is beautifully decorated with mirrors. The glass fragments on the ceiling and walls are reflected when light falls and the brightness spreads throughout the hall. The Raja of Jaipur, Raja Jai ​​Singh built this hall for his special guests, the hall was built in 1623 AD. The vials in the hall were imported from Belgium.

The Durbar Hall Museum is one of the most visited attractions in Junagadh. The present Durbar Hall Museum was earlier used as a court (court) by the then Nawabs of Junagadh. Hadurgarh Fort is one of the oldest forts in Patiala. This fort was established many years before Mubarak. The fort was built by Nawab Saif Ali Khan and the fort was named after Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur. Behind the Moti Bagh Palace, the Sheesha Mahal, built by Maharaja Narendra Singh in 1847, was the residential palace of the Maharaja of Patiala. The building is known as the ‘Palace of Mirrors’ because of its attractive colored glass and glass work. There is a lake towards the front of the palace and a swing across the lake, known as Laxman Jhula, adds to the beauty of this palace. The palace has a museum, which has the largest collection of medals from various parts of the world. The beautiful and elaborate artwork on the top of the walls and ceilings reflects the hard work of artists from Rajasthan and Kangra. Every year, many cultural events and heritage festivals are held at the Sheesh Mahal.

The Moti Bagh Palace and Museum is now the National Institute of  Sports. This complex has a large artificial lake (unfortunately drained) crossed by a hanging bridge modeled on Rishikesh’s Lakshman Jhoola. The Sheesh Mahal museum here is an enormously abnormal storehouse of art showcasing the individual Patiala school of the early 20th century. It keeping paintings done in both Kangra and Rajput technique with themes sapped from Hindu, Sikh and Jain folklore. Several are massive works covering whole walls. There are also many sculptures and artefacts dating back to the 9th-10th centuries. There is an interesting anthology of thousands of medals as well, collected by or awarded to, the Maharajas of  Patiala.

This is the ancient Shri Kali Mata Temple situated on the Mall Road. It is believed that as soon as a devotee enters the temple, his sorrows begin to end. The history of this temple is about 200 years old. Here devotees from abroad reach the forehead. In the days of Navratri, there is a fair atmosphere here. The idol of Goddess Kali Devi installed here was specially brought from Calcutta.

Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of  Patiala laid the foundation stone of the temple and the temple was built by Maharaja Karma Singh. At that time, the idol of the Mother Goddess was facing towards the outside of the city. Baradari Garden, As the population increased and people started moving to that side, the eyes of the Mother Goddess did not have a strong impact on them, so a wall was built in the temple. Lakhs of devotees have to come to the temple during the nine days i.e. nine days. The Goddess is bathed and decorated daily in the morning. The worship of the nine goddesses is also concluded with rituals. A fair is organized around the temple and vehicles are banned for nine days from Mall Road.

Lachman Jhoola is a beautiful suspension bridge built across a small artificial lake in Patiala. It is a duplication of the popular Lakshman Jhoola at Rishikesh. Lachman Jhoola actually links the Sheesh Mahal or the Palace of Mirrors with the Banasar Ghar which is a storehouse for stuffed animals. The bridge is a wonder by its building. It is exhilarating to feel the spring up and the wind standing at the center of the jhoola overlooking the lake waters below.
