Charminar, Places to visit in Hyderabad
Charminar is one of the most popular and historical tourist attractions in Hyderabad which is It was built in 1591 by Mohammad Quli Qutub Shah.
The original Charminar a huge construction in wood representing the tomb of the Muslim saint Imam Hussain was as charm to safeguard the city against the outbreak of cholera in the late 16th century.
When the epidemic subsided, the Charminar was rebuilt in stone and mortar at the same place where the original structure was built. It is an elegant rectangular edifice of four grand arches facing towards the four cardinal points.
The place is very crowded with small vendors occupying the entire road outside the beautiful heritage structure.
The iconic symbol of Hyderabad dates back to the 1500’s and is an interesting structure with 4 Minarets and 4 arches.
The area surrounding it is a busy street and jewelry market. You can find inexpensive bangles (bracelets) as well as very low priced ‘pearls’ which would make a cute item for young girls.

Yadagirigutta Temple Nalgonda, Places to visit in Hyderabad
The place was named Yadagirigutta after a hermit called Yadavarishi who religiously meditated to be blessed by Lord Narasimha, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
The Temple of Yadagirigutta is situated at a height of 300 feet on a hill, in Nalogonda district of Telangana.
The temple is famous and attracts a huge number of local devotees and outsiders. The Prasadham is very popular locally mainly the ‘Pulihora’ is quite famous.
It is said that Lord Narasimha was satisfied with the hermit’s devotion and materialized in five different forms. The five different forms are Jwala, Yogananda, Lakshminarasimha, Gandabherunda and Ugra.
As legend goes, the first form of Narasimha was so fiery that the yogi wanted him to appear him in a peaceful fo rm. He then appeared in the form of Yoganarasimha, but the yogi is still not satisfied and he wanted to see him with his counterpart i.e. Goddess Lakshmi. So Narasimha appeared with goddess Lakshmi on his lap.
It is said that these three Narasimha forms were so fiery that the hermit could not endure it. Hence, they are worshipped inside the cave.

How to reach Hyderabad
Hyderabad By Air
The airport is located at Begumpet(BPM). The airport is called Hyderabad old airport, with two terminals. The international terminal is named after Rajiv Gandhi and the domestic terminal is named after N T Rama Rao.
The airport is small compared to the current traffic it handles and it will prove inadequate to handle the increase in load in the near future.
A new international airport is being constructed in the suburb of Shamshabad, scheduled to be operational by April 1, 2008. It will replace the old airport.
Direct international connectivity to the airport is available from nearby countries, from the Middle-east and from Southeast Asia.
Flights connect places like Frankfurt, London (Birtish Airways by 2008), Amsterdam, New York etc in Europe and America.
Domestic connectivity is excellent with the network spanning almost all the important cities and towns on the Indian map. Hyderabad is slated to be a domestic hub from the time when the new airport would become operational.
The airport is at the heart of the city. Once you arrive, the best option is to take a prepaid taxi to your destination.
There is one run by the traffic police, where you can buy the prepaid coupon for the city’s standard taxis or autorickshaws. This is the cheapest and is adequate. There are others close by which offer better cars.

Indian Railways runs its service to Hyderabad from all over India. There are three major railway stations serving the twin cities: Secunderabad Junction(SC), Nampally{Hyderabad Deccan(HYB)}, and Kacheguda(KCG). Another station is planned to open soon at Begumpet.

If you don’t mind a long drive, Hyderabad is at a drivable distance from Bangalore (via NH7 – 552 km). It is 752 km from Chennai (NH9 and NH5) and 753 km from Mumbai (NH9 till Pune and the expressway to Mumbai).
The Bangalore Hyderabad section is part of the North South corridor which is being updated, and is a four-lane divided highway.
