Puri is situated 60 km away from Bhubaneswar in Indian state Odisha. It is also one of the four holiest Hindu pilgrimages in India.

It is the earliest Ganga monument of Odisha, but it must be noted that the ganga temples of much earlier dates are still to be traced in the Andhra regions, the original seat of power of Gangas.

There is a definite mention in all the later copper plate records of the successor of Chodaganga that he was the builder of this great temple at Puri.

According to some evidence sources that Chodaganga had began this huge structure and one of his successor Ananagabhimadev III completed it or added the Jagamohan to it.

Situated on the new marine drive rock, this light house has become one of the most view tourist spots in recent year.

It is one of the best places to view sunset and the timing is 4.00pm-5.00pm, it is open for 1hr. Entry fee -20/- Rs. People who cannot climb stairs should avoid this lighthouse.

Narendra pokhari or Sarovar.named by a king of kedra pada district.an intreastin story behind this name narendra.

The king of ancient Odisha sri Gajapati maharaj had restricted to the people to not go inside the sarovar or lake, but Narendra from Kendrapada had disobey the rule and he taken bath in the pokhari.

So Gajapatj maharaj punished to Narendra some punishment in rupees, but Narendra review the falt again and again. And full fill all fined by Gajpati maharaj and finaly the king named the pokhari to the person Narendra.

Nalbana Bird Sanctuary is the center area of the Ramsar nominated wetlands of Chilika Lake.

It was recognized as a bird sanctuary under the Wildlife Protection Act in 1972. In the heart of the park, visitors can see thousands of birds descending during the migratory season.

One can see some rare species of birds and many migratory birds come here in winter from November till Feburary.

The island gets completely submerged during the June to August or monsoon season.

This lake is again visible during starting winter and birds flock to the island with their groups to feed on its extensive mudflats.

Tourist can reach the place only through boating for an hour and a half.

It is about 20km away from Puri, and on Puri-Bhubneshwar highway. The Temple Sakshi Gopal inherits Radhe Krishna temple with an iconic touch.

The temple of Shree Loknath is situated about 2.5km to the west of Lord Jagannath Temple of Puri.

Tourist can get regular buses either from railway station or from Swargadwar frequently to visit this temple.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, a valuable Shaiva Peeth in Odisha. The architecture of the temple is Odishan custom with four parts as Vimna ( the main temple), Jagmohan ( entrance hall ), Natamandir ( the dancing hall) & the Bhogmandapa ( offering hall).

The outer walls are housed with the images of Shiva Parvati, Lord Kartikeya, Lord Ganesha, The innermost chamber of the temple houses a Shiva Linga, the presiding deity.

This lingam can only be viewed only once in a year as it is under water throughout the year by a natural fountain.

Only 3 days before the Shivaratri festival, the water is drained out & the lingam is visible.

This time thousands of devotees assembled there to worship the deity. Lord Loknath is closely linked with the temple of Lord Jagannath as He is the guardian deity of the Ratnabhandara ( treasure house ) in Puri temple, is associated with several festivals in Jagannath temple.

The temple is situated about 27 km from Puri and a famous tourist spot in Odisha. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga, It present on a sandy mound just off the beach near the Lake Chilika.

The rituals followed at the temple are alike to the Lord Jagannath temple. The Goddess here is said to be very powerful and it is also said that She always saves local residents from the overseas waves.

Buses or Taxi easily available and the best way to reach here. It is also a great place to enjoy picnic here with friends and family.

Items required for picnic like utensils, gas stove and gas cylinder etc are easily available on rent in the shops located at the picnic spot and has a good cemented parking area for vehicles.

Situated to the south west of Puri, covering a extensive area of 1100 sq kms, Chilika Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most visited wildlife sanctuaries in Odisha and famous as Puri tourist places.

This wildlife sanctuary houses to a variety of migratory and local birds such as White Bellied, Flamingo, Sea Eagle, Spotbilled Pelican, Brahminy Kite, Barheaded Goose, Openbilled Stork, Spoonbill, Brahimny Duck, Wigeon, Pintail, Ibis, Stilt, Heron, Egret, Shoveller, Avocet, Gull, Tern and King Fisher etc.

The sunrise and sunset at Chilika Wildlife Sanctuary is very famous among the visitors.

Many people especially goes to this sanctuary for this splendid view sunset. Kalijai Temple is one of the most popular tourist attractions near Chilika Wildlife Sanctuary.

This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kalijai. Each fisher man visits Kalijai Temple before going on a fishing expedition at Chilka Lake. Reasonably priced boats can be hired from Balugaon and Barkul for the sanctuary.
